New Laker Steve Blake hit the go ahead 3-pointer with 18 seconds to deliver the final blow to the Rockets on opening night. Despite being down by as many as fifteen points, the Lakers managed to rally back into the game, thanks in large to Shannon Brown who hit 3 big 3-pointers late in the game. 

The Lakers will be going for their third championship in as many years.
